International Certification in Team Coaching

Team Coaching India

As a burgeoning economy, India has become a breeding ground for start-ups and entrepreneurial ventures. It’s a competitive market where success is directly associated with the performance of the in-house workforce or teams. Experts cite this reigning corporate mindset as the primary reason behind the popularity of executive and team coaching in the country. Leveraging the trend, a career opportunity has arisen for the corporate employee. No wonder so many professionals are getting trained to get international certifications for team coach in India.

Definition of Team Coaching

Mostly associated with sports activities, the approach and ideology of a corporate team coach are different from athletics. Team coaching can be defined as, “the process of assisting a team to improve its performance and productivity, which is achieved through coordinated dialogue and self-reflection.” (David Clutterbuck)

In the book “Coaching, Mentoring, and Organizational Consultancy: Supervision and Development” by Hawkins and Smith, the term team coaching has been further elaborated as, “the process of empowering a team to work as a unit towards a particular mission or objective while improving the internal and external relationships. It focuses more on the unified purpose and role of the team towards its execution.”
